Peace Mother, 16″ x 20″

The Mother is one of the three faces or phases of the Goddess in her nurturing and protective aspect. The two doves represent her wisdom and peace. She represents the fruitful, creative, and fertile phase of the goddess in all women (whether physical mothers or not). From Isis to Mother Mary, she has been shown holding her child – the mythic Son who is always connected with our physical Sun in myths through the ages. She brings comfort and motherly love to all who ask.

Owl Crone, 16″ x 20″
WulfWorks © Copyright 2018
The Crone is one of the three faces or phases of the Goddess in her ancient and timeless aspect. Her wise and sometimes frightening face is often connected with the wise owl, and with death, war, and destruction. She brings decay, so new growth can emerge from the old, just as she transforms herself back to the form of the maiden. We see this cycle repeated every day as darkness becomes dawn, and every year as winter turns to spring.

Acrylic on Canvass

Enjoy the rich warmth of honey colors and experience a sense of being part of the hive in this wonderful tribute to honeybees. – Melissa is the latin name for bees and this image celebrates the wonder of bees in our world. This lovely red-haired goddess puts a human face on the queen bee deva of all bees, everywhere. She is surrounded by honeycomb and her favorite plant, Melissa officinalis (also known as lemon balm – a very healing herb for us too). Her message is a reminder to honor and protect the bees that are so essential to pollinating our crops and flowers. They are the most important helpers in producing so much of our food.

Edge of the Wild, 12″ x 16″
Mixed Media on Board

“The old one, the One Who Knows, is within us. She thrives in the deepest soul-psyche of women, the ancient and vital wild Self. Her home is that place in time where the spirit of women and the spirit of wolf meet – the place where the mind and instincts mingle, where a woman’s deep life funds her mundane life. It is the point where the I and the Thou kiss, the place where, in all spirit, women run with the wolves.” – Clarissa Pinkola Estes
This elven woman is one with the Wild and the Wolves, peacefully immersed in her own deep meditation.

Foxy Faery, 12″ x 16″
Mixed Media on Board

Fox as spirit animal, or power animal brings discernment, insight, and cleverness. His ability to hide in plain sight is almost magical. Fox can teach you to avoid conflict by leading you into a new perspective – often in a merry chase. Be ready to laugh at yourself. Fox has long been known as a trickster, but you may find that you’ve been tricking yourself!
Here a red-haired elf, or faery woman enjoys the forest with her red fox companion. When you connect with this image, you complete the triad of human, animal & faery that is said to represent the full expression of our being.

Mixed Media on Watercolor Paper

Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand.
Where the wandering water gushes
From the hills above Glen-Car,
In pools among the rushes
That scarce could bathe a star,
We seek for slumbering trout
And whispering in their ears
Give them unquiet dreams;
Leaning softly out
From ferns that drop their tears
Over the young streams. ~ Yeats
Stepping into the Otherworlds can take you by surprise. A young faery plays beside a stream as a hiker walks by. Their worlds overlap, yet they may not even notice each other… or maybe they will.

“Sometimes you enter the heart.
Sometimes you’re born from the soul.
Sometimes you weep a song of separation: all the same glory.
You live in beautiful forms and you’re the energy that breaks images.
All light, neither this nor that.
“Human beings go places on foot; angels, with wings.
Even if they find nothing but ruins and failure,
you’re the bright core of that.” ~ Rumi
At the core of all things is the mystical faery Glen of Precious Stones where the faeries go to renew and recharge. Few humans will ever find it, yet those who do will be blessed with regeneration and bliss. Enter if you dare.

Avalon Portal, 12″ x 16″
Acrylic on canvas
WulfWorks © Copyright 2018
“And so, perhaps, the truth winds somewhere between the road to Glastonbury, Isle of the Priests, and the road to Avalon, lost forever in the mists of the Summer Sea.”
― Marion Zimmer Bradley, The Mists of Avalon
Avalon is one of the faery places most strongly connected with our world. This connection has traditionally been found in Glastonbury, England. However, we can find it anywhere, as long as our intention is pure.
In this painting you see the Lady of the Lake, who represents the goddess Sovereignty, opening a portal between the worlds. Behind her, stands Glastonbury Tor, anchoring the portal. You will notice the elemental forms of Earth, Fire, Water, and Air, and the apple trees of Avalon surrounding the goddess. A golden dragon and white unicorn enhance the magical energy of the moment.
Whether you call them elves, faeries, Sidhe, or the Ladies of the Lake, the beings of Avalon are asking kindred spirits in the human world to wake up and remember them. It is time for us to rebuild the bridges between our worlds, for the sake of Earth, humanity, and the faery realm. The multiple-lemniscate image is a powerful symbol you can use to build your own bridge.

Sands of Time, 10.25″ x 14.125″
Mixed Media on Watercolor Paper

“Up rose the maiden in the yellow night,
The single-mooned eve! – on Earth we plight
Our faith to one love – and one moon adore –
The birth-place of young Beauty had no more.” – Edgar Allan Poe
Long before humans walked the Earth, our elven faery kin brought gifts from the Otherworlds to fill our world with beauty, harmony, and abundance. This elven maiden sprinkles golden sand along a beach beside the sea beneath a glowing yellow moon. The original painting actually has gold leaf sparkles in the sand. Did you notice the faery star on the beach?

She Watches through the Veil, 10.25″ x 14.125″
Mixed Media on Watercolor Paper
WulfWorks © Copyright 2018
Wherever you go, whatever you do
The faery elves are watching you
They whisper in the leaves of trees
Call them elves or call them Sidhe
Remember who you are they say
You are human, we are fae
We are your kin across the veil
We watch with hope you will not fail
To feel the wonder of this place
The gift we gave the human race ~ Wulf
They are the People of Peace, the Fae, the Elves. They watch from the shadows of our world, waiting to build a bridge to reunite our destiny with theirs. They can only do it with our help. So they wait. Patiently. Knowing one day we will wake up and remember the ancient kinship we share with them. They will help us make this world a paradise, but first we have to reach out across the veil.

Mermaid Dreams, 10.25″ x 14.125″
Mixed Media on Watercolor Paper

“Who would be
A mermaid fair,
Singing alone,
Combing her hair
Under the sea,
In a golden curl
With a comb of pearl,
On a throne?” ~ Lord Alfred Tennyson
Legends of mermaids have fascinated humans for a very long time. Who are they? What is it that we find so alluring? Perhaps it is their legendary beauty (though some tales would not call them so), or their power to lure sailors to their doom on the open sea. Or maybe it is their perfect harmony with the natural world that awakens ancient memories in our bones.
This mermaid is certainly at home in the ocean and she invites you to stay awhile beside the splashing waves. It is peaceful here and there is healing in the beautiful blues of water and sky.

Lady of the Lake, 9″ x 12″
Acrylic on Canvas
WulfWorks © Copyright 2018
“The beach of pebbles bright as snow.
The boat had touched this silver strand
Just as the Hunter left his stand,
And stood concealed amid the brake,
To view this Lady of the Lake.
The maiden paused, as if again
She thought to catch the distant strain.
With head upraised, and look intent,
And eye and ear attentive bent,
And locks flung back, and lips apart,
Like monument of Grecian art,
In listening mood, she seemed to stand,
The guardian Naiad of the strand.” ~ Sir Walter Scott
The Lady of the Lake is a very ancient and mysterious figure from Arthurian Lore. It is she who gives Arthur his sword Excalibur, which is one of the four sacred hallows of the faery realm. She is known by various names, including Nimue’, Vivian, and Morgan le Fay, and she rules over the Isle of Avalon. Here she sails across the stormy lake, sword in hand, to meet Merlin. Perhaps they are planning to set things in motion to bring Arthur into the world in hopes that he can create bridges between the worlds of faery and human.

Dancing the World: Maiden, Mother, & Crone, 16″ x 20″
Acrylic on Canvas
WulfWorks © Copyright 2018
“You will experience the triple Goddess—Maiden, Mother, and Crone. These phases are symbolic to, not just your own life, but life as a whole. Birth, life, and death. As women, it is important to understand you are the cycle.” ― Emma Mildon, Evolution of Goddess: A Modern Girl’s Guide to Activating Your Feminine Superpowers
The goddess in her triple aspect, maiden, mother, and crone, also symbolized by the white thread, red thread, and black thread in Celtic lore. Together they dance the world into being, calling in the light and life of all things. She is the life of the world.

Yemaya: Water Goddess, 16″ x 20″
Acrylic on Canvas
WulfWorks © Copyright 2018
“Water is fluid, soft and yielding. But water will wear away rock, which is rigid and cannot yield. As a rule, whatever is fluid, soft and yielding will overcome whatever is rigid and hard. This is another paradox: what is soft is strong.” ~ Lau Tzu
Yemaya is the Goddess of the living Ocean (Yorùbá Orisha). Similar to the Celtic Danu, she is considered the mother of all life and the source of all waters. The rivers of Africa, especially the River Ogun, are particularly connected with her.

“The fairies went from the world, dear,
Because men’s hearts grew cold:
And only the eyes of children see
What is hidden from the old” ~ Kathleen Foyle
What could be more delightful than catching sight of a fairy? You won’t have to look far. They share our world and play in our gardens. This fairy is a queenly sort, regal and wise, keeping watch over the fae, toads, birds, and butterflies alike.
